Marlboro Music School & Festival, Marlboro Vermont

59th Season - Weekends: July 18 - August 16

With Richard Goode & Mitsuko Uchida as Artistic Directors, some 75 of the most distinguished and promising artists from all over the world come together for seven weeks at the Marlboro (Vermont) Music School and Festival where the emphasis is not on pre-planned performance but on exploring chamber music in depth. The public gets to hear a sample of these collaborations in compelling, insightful and passionate performances on five weekends of concerts - July 18-August16, 2009 with tickets moderately priced from $5 to $35.

Programs are only decided a week in advance and represent a small selection of some of the collaborations that have gone especially well during the rehearsal process. The fact that most tickets are sold far in advance without knowing programs or artists, speaks to the happy results that come from this special musical family celebrating its 59th season this summer. A list of participating artists can be found here or upon request from the Marlboro office.
